On May 23, 1936, Lorayne Major married James Semple in Miami, Florida, Dade County, Miami, Florida. On Dec. 24, 1944, James was killed in action during WW II in Germany.

Lorayne (Major) Semple married Raymond E. Bittle. They had one daughter, Chris. In 1949, Lorayne and Raymond lived in Apt 2 at 1710 21st Ave, Gulfport, MS. Raymond was an instructor at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS.

In 1982, Lorayne moved from Marion, Illinois to Tallahassee, FL. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and bird watching. In 1986, her husband, Raymond, died.

Lorayne M. Bittle Lorayne M. Bittle, 91, a homemaker, died Saturday, May 24, 2008. A private service was to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Wildlife Association, P.O. Box 38160, Tallahassee, FL 32315. Bevis Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

A native of Rochelle, GA, Lorayne moved from Marion, Illinois to Tallahassee in 1982. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and bird watching.

Family remaining included one daughter, Chris Bittle and husband Marc Weininger of Tallahassee, FL; and one sister, Bernice Daywalt of Tallahassee, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Bittle in 1986.
