About Lord Frederick Campbell
Frederick Campbell was a politician who was born in 1729, educated at Westminster School and Christ Church, Oxford, and was called to the bar in 1754. Elected to parliament in 1761, his early support for Bute was rewarded in 1762 with a life grant of the feu duties of Islay.
He was appointed Lord Clerk Register in 1766.
