Biography
This profile is part of the Stewart Name Study.
Lorenzo was born in Georgia between 1805-1810. Two out of three census reports list his birth year as 1805 while the 1850 Census indicates he was born in 1810. In 1850, Lorenzo and wife Sarah are enumerated on the federal census in Yalobusha County, Mississippi. [1] On the 1860 Census[2] and the 1870 Census[3] his birth year is listed as 1805.
Lorenzo married Sarah Anderson in December of 1830:

Married - On Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1830, by Rev. Nicholas Hamner Cobbs, Lorenzo Stewart, attorney, of Oglethorpe County, Ga., to Miss Sarah Ann Anderson, daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth W. Anderson, of Bedford County.
The couple are listed together in 1840[7] 1850[8] and 1860[9] in Yalobusha, Mississippi. Sarah is not listed with Lorenzo on the 1870 Census.[10] It is believed that Lorenzo passed away in 1872; the date listed here for his death is the date reported on several ancestry family trees but a source is needed for verification.
