Louella Aquila Young

Luella Aquila Young, 77, Hays, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Hays Good Samaritan Center.

She was born Nov. 13, 1930, in Ellis to Acquiline and Mary (Kinderknecht) Romey.

She married Ronald Young. He preceded her in death.

She worked in food service at Fort Hays State University.

Survivors include four sons, David Alan Young and wife, Jane, New Castle, Colo., Michael Terrance Young and wife, Vicky, Colwich, Martin Wayne Young, Mount Holly, N.C., and Dana Raymond Young and wife, Venda, Hays; a daughter, Diana Mae Young, Hays; four sisters, Irene Beilman, Topeka, Marie Hertel and Carole Arnhold, both of Hays, and Kathy Riedel, Wichita; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Romey.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine; inurnment in St. Joseph Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Hays Good Samaritan Center or American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.

Ronald M. Young , 61, of 103 W. 80th S., former Ellis resident, IFR employee, died Friday, Dec. 15, 1989. Service 1:30 p.m. Monday, Ellis (Kan.) City Cemetery.

Survivors: wife, Margaret; sons, Dana, Marty, both of Hays, Dave of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Mike of Wichita; daughter, Diana Hoeflinger of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; brothers, Dick of Wichita, Lester of Los Angeles, Roger of Dallas, Douglas of Key West, Fla.; sisters, Kay Terrill of Holdrege, Neb., Cynthia Balmer, Naomi Malone, both of Hays, Roma Ewing of Ellis, Karen Brock of Leavenworth; four grandchildren.

Memorial has been established with the American Heart Association. Hays Memorial Chapel, Hays.
