Lougene "Gene" Knopp, 62, of Boaz, died Saturday, June 4, 1994, at her residence after an extended illness.

She was born in Nicut, a daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Hicks Sampson. She was a graduate of Calhoun County High School, Mountain State Business College, and St. Joseph's School of Nursing. She had been employed by Worthington Manor Care Center. She was a member of Sand Hill United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Delmar Wayne Knopp; two sons, Gary Knopp of Williamstown and Michael Knopp of Eutawville, S.C.; three daughters, Janet Cooper of Holly Hill, S.C., Rebecca Kimble of Grantsville, and Shari Carder of Big Bend; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; three brothers, Homer Sampson of Shock, Curt Sampson and Dave Sampson, both of Parkersburg; and two sisters, Hallie Mae Reider of Nicut and Ocie King of Shock.

Services were held at Ogdin-Kimes Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery North.
