About Louis Bachrach
Louis Bachrach, 20 years old, son of Mr. & Mrs.Henry Bachrach, 722 West Wood street, died in a hospital in Philadelphia, Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock following an operation for quinsy. News of the death came to Dr. Ben Bachrach, a brother, in a long distance telephone conversation with Edgar Bachrach, another brother, who was with Louis at the time of death. No details of the illness was given.
Edgar Bachrach left Decatur Saturday night for Philadelphia to buy goods. The family in Decatur did not know that Louis was ill or that he was in a hospital. Evidently his illness was short and the operation only recent. From the fact that Edgar telephoned to Decatur at 6 o'clock Wednesday afternoon it is presumed that he was at the bedside at the time of death.
Louis Bachrach was born in Decatur, Dec. 14, 1892. He attended the schools here [and] was a graduate of Decatur High School. About a year ago he went to Philadelphia and there entered a large department store. He was there for the experience. His sister, Mrs. Rose Smith, also lives in Philadelphia. The last word received from him was to the effect that he was coming home soon. Edgar was not aware of his brother's illness when he left Decatur.
He leaves his parents, four brothers, Albert Bachrach, Dr. Ben Bachrach, Sidney Bachrach and Edgar Bachrach; three sisters, Miss Mattie Bachrach and Miss Helen Bachrach of Decatur and Mrs. Rose Smith of Philadelphia.
The body will be brought to Decatur by the brother and sister.
