Louis (50), a well-known Bloemfontein bank official, and Robert Peter Robertson (56) a pigeon farmer were brutally attacked and murdered at their homes in Fichardtpark and Vallambrosa respectively in October and November 2005.

Strydom was murdered in broad daylight in his home on the corner of Benade and Castelyn Drive on October 20th when he presumably caught two burglars unawares and was brutally attacked with a knife.

  • Two men who are suspected of the knife murder of Strydom, a well-known figure in Free State banking circles, have been arrested.
