6th child according to delayed birth certificate filed by her mother in 1941. None of the preceding five were said to have died before her birth. West Virginia Births, 1853-1921 - Louise Muncy
Her first partner was a syphilitic whom she married. He died young . Louise seems to have married again in Charleston
shortly thereafter and seems to have resided there until the War. For the record, here is a contemporary film of Charleston: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F04ZPAVBVv8
see: https://www.myheritage.com/research/record-10688-1140982-/louise-mu...
Important: As her birth certificate records her DOB as being in 1901, she cannot be the same person as the "Lou Emma" of the 1920 census who was then 12. The 1920 "Lou E." is Glenna Elizabeth b.c. 1908, Class of 1928 at Iaeger HS, McDowell Co., WV.
The supposition is that "sixth chid" Louise (born 1901) either died before 1920 or had left the household.
going by "Lucy May Muncy"

There was a rather erroneous death certificate. (wrong DOB and wrong assignment of Silas Coles. Silas was NOT her father. He was her partner/ex-partner or husband. Also: She lost her first husband and then took up with Silas as we see elsewhere in the record. IOW not "single" Perhaps these errors should be seen as insignificant as her cadaver was donated to science
body was evidently collected by a "removal agent" for the State: H.R.McFarland A.C.I.D. So, We may suppose that Silas was no longer living with her. |
