About Louise McOmber
Louise Tyler McOmber 10/23/1918 - 2/25/2009: Louise Tyler McOmber passed peacefully away February 25, 2009. She was born October 23, 1918, to Lenora Davidson and Dorus Harvey Tyler. She was the oldest of 10 children. Louise married her sweetheart, Winston I. McOmber on June 5, 1944, in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a devoted mother to her eight children. Louise had many talents, painting, sewing, piano, photography, genealogy, and teaching. She loved teaching and began her career in Thatcher, Idaho. After raising her children, she returned to school and finished her degree from Westminster College. Then she began teaching at John C. Fremont Elementary, where she taught for 20 years. Louise is a woman of faith, and served in many callings for the LDS Church. She served a stake mission before she was married. She served two missions with her husband, serving in the Philippines and the Manchester England Missions. They have worked together in the Temple for the last 20 years.
She is survived by her loving husband, Winston; children, Brent, Bruce (Marie), Linda (Charlie) Burton, Tyler, Steven (Selu), Stan (Michelle); 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grand; brothers, Lynn, Ted, Glenn Tyler; sisters, Ruth Christiansen and Rosella Boman.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Karen; son, Sidney; daughter-in-law, Teri (Tyler) McOmber; sister, Doris Pitcher; brothers, Raymond, Reed, and Dale Tyler. Funeral services will be Monday, March 2, 2009, 11: a.m. at the Brighton 1st Ward, 2925 East Bengal Blvd. (7695 South). A viewing will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and from 1-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
