Visitation followed the funeral in the Hinson Fellowship Hall. The family could be called on at Mrs. Todd’s home at all other times.
Mrs. Todd was born in Sampson County on October 27, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Junnie Edmond Andrews and Mary Frances Jones and was also predeceased by her husband, Noah Allen Todd.
Survivors include her sons, James Allen Todd and wife, Sandra of Todd, NC, Jerry Todd and wife, Carol of Delway and Billy Todd of Clinton, six grandchildren, James, Michael, Andrew, Sarah, Elizabeth and Benjamin Todd and three great-grandchildren, Trevor, Caleb and Joseph Todd.
Mrs. Todd graduated as salutatorian of her class from Faison High School in 1941. Following graduation she moved to Delway to begin employment with the Ezzell Trading Company where she met her beloved husband and were together for 55 years. After getting all her boys in school she began working a public job in 1962 as a cafeteria worker at Union Elementary School where she eventually switched her roll in the school to teacher's assistant and later moved up to the position of administrative assistant at the school until her retirement nearly 30 years later. Mrs. Todd did not stop. She continued to volunteer at the school and was Volunteer of the Year several times. Louise was very loyal and active in her church where she began teaching at the age of 18 and taught over 70 years before her health forced her to move to Southwood Nursing Center. She also served as church clerk for many years as well as various committees. Active in the Women’s Missionary Union, Mrs. Todd also served as the Eastern Baptist Association WMU director for several years. Never to be idle, she would teach and lead devotions at The Open Door Ministry in Delway. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles and visiting the library because she loved to read. Before her husband died they would travel together another activity they both enjoyed. She was a very humble lady that never missed an opportunity to serve her community, dry a child’s eyes, provide advice when asked and listen quietly when needed, visit the sick, call the shut-in or prepare food for someone. Her service to others was far reaching and there are many deeds that she did that only those receiving knew. Mrs. Todd loved her family, which included not only her children but extended to anyone in which she came into contact. She studied, taught and lived the Bible and her faith in God and belief in Jesus Christ always directed her life. If you asked her for her advice her first response would be, “Have you prayed about it?”
Royal-Hall Funeral Home of Clinton, NC served the Todd family.
