Comments
We know from his will (dated 1748, proved 1750) that his wife was named Lovewell. I've never seen proof of her last name.
I have Edward's wife as Lovewell [Unknown]. Last I checked, Nikki Bass and Kianga Lucas (who have researched this line-see their excellent blogs) had the same.
It's frustrating to know so little about Lovewell, but we shouldn't add info without knowing where it comes from.
Also please note: James Basse's parents are not proved yet. We know from YDNA testing that his line is R1b-L47, and the lines of Edward's brothers John Bass 1673 and William Bass 1676 are A1a-M31. (The results from William's line are fairly new.)
So James is unlikely to be the son of Edward
