From entry 24 of the 2002 Wolcott green book, "Abraham was commissioned a Lieutenant in 1678. He was an administrator of the estate of his father-in-law, Matthew Griswold, and as such was involved in a legal dispute with Matthew Griswold, Jr., who accused him of destroying family papers."
