Ra'i-Atea Pambrun notes:

Amaziah RICHMOND married Abigail BURT.Abigail was the daughter of John Burt and Hannah WALKER.

I know this information about my ancestors Richmond through the book "The Richmond Family 1594-1896 and Pre-American Ancestors 1040-1594". The author of this important work and this research was named Joshua Bailey Richmond. At the time I 'had consulted the book with the Mormons. Today it is also available on the Internet.

Amaziah For Abigail and you should refer to page 64, number 272.

Ben M. Angel notes: The march to Dorchester Height in August 1776 was likely to reinforce the batteries overlooking the city of Boston and its harbor during the British invasion of New York City. The British had in fact evacuated Boston on March 17 following General Washington's placement of guns on Dorchester Heights on March 2.

The action under Captain Edward Blake on 28 September 1777 sounds like it would have been more interesting - several other family trees list other members of what has been described as some sort of "secret expedition" apparently into Rhode Island, apparently ending 18 October 1777. A list of members of this expedition is frequently referred to, but I haven't found it yet.

Additional information on this family was extracted from the gedcom of H. Arthur Packard (g441.ged) found at the Ancestry.com website. Arthur descends from Amiziah and Abigail's daughter Sarah Richmond Houghton. Arthur's gedcom has 13 children listed under the marriage to Abigail, he does not assign any children to the first marriage. The extra sibling is a Gilbert who m. a Polly W. _____. It is possible that this is "Burt" and perhaps he married twice.
