Lt. (CSA) James Wood

2nd Lieutenant JAMES WOOD, son of William Wood (1786-1857) and Nancy Lipscomb (1786-1856), was born 26 November 1812 in Spartanburg County, SC. He was a Veteran of the Mexican War and the War of Northern Aggression. Commissioned on 1 October 1864 as 2nd Lieutenant in Company A, 7th Battalion South Carolina Reserves Infantry. Died 15 December 1908. Buried in the Pacolet Methodist Cemetery in Spatanburg County, SC.
