Led a small force or column known as "Guycol" at Tobruk and got taken prisoner there in June 1942. He would subsequently have been taken to an Italian POW camp, and his medals record at the archives shows POW repatriation: http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D7376154. The Geni SA WW2 POW project shows that he was in the transit camp at Bari (Italy) known as PG75 Torre Tresca.
