About Lt. Colonel Norman Daniel Cota, Jr.

Mini Biography

The Son of Major General Norman D. "Dutch" Cota Sr,. Norman D. "Dan" Cota was born and raised in a Military enviornment..Military life was most of what he experienced for the early part of his life. With the looming shadows of World War II approaching... like His Father, he entered USMC at West Point and additionally took up aviation. As a Fighter-Recon Pilot, he was tasked in The European Theater of Operations whereby protecting Bombers on their missions, but was also tasked for some Intelligence Missions as well and did some aero-military firsts that proved to be a benefit in military tactics.
After the war, he transferred to what would become The USAF with Air force Intelligence, but abruptly retired and got married to the Daughter of a paint and varnish company in Milkwalkee. Though he worked as a civilian at his wife's father's company... having a Military Contract, it is possible that he helped and supervised the making of basic and classified paints, varnishes and polymers for military applications. When the shadows of The Korean War appeared... he considered re-enlisting once more as a fighter pilot. Unfortunately... just before his entering, he had a skying accident, breaking his leg in such a way, that he was dismissed. Being grounded, he continued to work at his father-in-law's company and during it;s later merger. He continued to work in this field, right up to his retirement.
