Biographical Summary

"Sir David Cunynghame, Baronet [S. 1702], of Milncraig and Livingstone, br. and h., b. 1 Aug. 1700; an officer in the army, being Lient.-Col. of Crawford's Foot, subsequently, Col. of the 57th Infantry in 1757, and, finally, 1761, Lieut.-Gen. in the army. He suc. to the Baronetcy, 1 Feb. 1747, and recorded Arms at the Lyon office, 24 July 1765. He m. (against the wish of her family) May 1731, Mary, da. of Alexander (Montgomerie), Earl of Eglinton [S.], by his 2d wife, Anne, da. of George (Gordon), 1st Earl op Aberdeen [S.]. He d. 10 Oct. 1767, at Livingstone, aged 67. His widow d. June 1777."
