About Luann McDaniel
Luann McDaniel 1759-1850. She is buried at Mechanicsburg Cemetery in Sangamon County, and she was a Nurse in the Revolutionary War. She is recognized by the Daughters Of The American Revolution. There was a ceremony, and plaque placed at her grave in 1975 , referring to her as the "First Nurse" of Sangamon County.
She is my 5th Great Grandmother, and I feel honored to be her direct descendant.
Her husband, Pvt Robert Allan McDaniel , fought at Valley Forge, and was present when Cornwallis surrendered.
He is buried in Kentuky. - David W Verdoorn Jr.
