nd here is the case for permission to marry Lucia, signed by Dolgorukov - fund 472 op. 2 case 403

1833 - p. 3

On Allowing Chamberlains and Chamber Junkers to Marry

                         Вх № 6005 November 29, 1833

Ref No. 6168 Vilno 22 November 1833
His Excellency Prince P.M. Volkonsky
Dear Sovereign Prince Peter Mikhailovich!

Having authorized the Correcting Office of the Vilna Leader of the Nobility, Chamberlain Count Ignatius Zabella, to enter into legal marriage with the daughter of the former Polish Forces General of Wawrzhetsky, Lucie, I am obliged to inform your Excellency about this.

I have the honor to be with the deepest respect and utter devotion

Your Majesty

Your Excellency Most Submissive Servant

Prince Dolgorukov

At the very beginning, another case from the 1149 fund was mentioned, about allowing descendants to add the surname Wawrzecki . This permission was given because Lucia was the last bearer of this surname in her family, and so that she would not disappear, her descendants in marriage were assigned the right to bear the double surname Zabello-Vavrzhetsky, but this was not destined to happen. It was the fault of Nikolai Andreevich Dolgorukov, who was appointed interim governor of Minsk in 1831. In 1832, Prince Nikolai Andreevich was made the military governor of Vilna, with management in this province and the civilian part, and correcting the post of the Grodno and Bialystok governor-general. In 1833 he was promoted to lieutenant general, retaining the rank of adjutant general and the military governor of Vilna and confirming his position as governor-general of Grodno and Bialystok. The prince was attracted to mature and often married women, and he was carried away by Lucius. It is difficult to say whether Luciya loved Dolgorukov. But the fact that this connection was not approved by many compatriots (primarily women) is obvious. Relatives openly told Lucy that she was walking along the road "covered with roses for shame." Here's a sad story.

Continuation of an interesting story from the pages of the IOP forum - For this marriage, Dolgorukov will fall into disgrace. "The Vilna military governor and governor-general of Grodno, Bialystok and Minsk (since 1832), Prince Nikolai Andreevich Dolgorukov, was after that from 1840 to 1847 the governor-general of Kharkov, Poltava and Chernigov. Prince N. A. Dolgorukov was married to the second marriage to the divorced Countess Zabello, nee Vavrzhetskaya, "and this marriage fell out of favor, moved from Vilna to Kharkov and died there in disgrace in 1846" N. Sushkova: Prince N. A. Dolgorukov, in Chten. Common East and Ancient. Ross. 1864 Prince 1. Blend, page 167. In the text, the inaccuracy died not in 1846, but in 1847. Second wife (from 1841) - Lucia Osipovna Zebello *(1815-1900), daughter of the former brigadier-general of the Polish troops, Joseph Wawrzecki, and the last bearer of this surname in the family. In 1833, she married the Vilna leader of the nobility, Chamberlain Count Ignatius Zabello, and he was given the right to bear the name Zabello-Vavrzhetsky. Living with her husband in Vilna, the beautiful Lucia attracted the attention of Prince Dolgoruky and for four years was in open communication with him. According to S. Moravsky, Dolgoruky had many admirers who were looking for his location. One of them, Mrs. Angela Kolkovskaya (1803-1872), “beautiful, intelligent and calculating, she managed to catch the prince in her net, but could not keep him. After a short rivalry, she was defeated by the younger and more agile Lucie Zebello. Her husband was ruined, so when Dolgorukov offered him one hundred thousand rubles in cash compensation, Zabello did not refuse and gave a divorce. " The emperor did not agree to her marriage with Dolgorukov, considering it not decent that the governor-general's wife was a native, but the prince insisted on his own. Finally, together with the permission for the wedding, he was moved to Little Russia, where the post, in its importance, could not be equal to the Lithuanian one. Having become a princess, Luciya Osipovna did not like to be bored and arranged endless holidays in her house. However, being a diligent Catholic, she showed compassion for those in need. As a member of the Kharkiv Charitable Society, she organized charity evenings in the form of concerts and performances. The cellist NB Golitsyn and A. Dreishok took part in them, while the princess herself took part in the living films with extraordinary effect. With the funds raised, she managed to open an almshouse in 1844. After the death of her second husband, the emperor appointed Lucia a pension of 4 thousand rubles. She died in Nice and was buried in the St-Pierre d'Arene cemetery. From this marriage there was a daughter, Elena Nikolaevna (1842 - 01/31/1851), who died of scrofula and was buried in Naples at the Old English Cemetery.

  • And again the distorted spelling of the surname
