Lucille A. Dickinson
Our hearts were saddened by the loss of our loved one Lucille Anderson Dickinson, 89, of Spotsylvania County, who went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012.
Lucille was born Sept. 20, 1923, in Caroline County. She graduated from C.T. Smith High School in 1941 and was a member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, family, life, gardening and music. Lucille worked at Marine Corps Base Quantico, G&H, the Shoe Factory and Spotsylvania schools.
She is survived by her children, Phyllis and her husband, Frederick Williams, Patsy Lavin, and G.W. Dickinson and his wife, Patty. She also leaves eight grandchildren, Lisa and her husband, Warren Payne, Cyndi and her husband, Ricky Deale, Pedro Lavin and his wife, Marie, Angie and her husband, Joe Wheeler, Troy Lavin, Andy Lavin and his wife, Tara, Drew Dickinson, and Garrett Dickinson and his wife, Tiffany; 10 great-grandchildren; her beloved sister, Margaret Sullivan; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Grover W. Dickinson.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Clyde Coleman officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ricky Deale, Warren Payne, Drew and Garrett Dickinson and Pedro and Andy Lavin. Honorary pallbearers will be J.B. Davis, David Satterwhite and Mike Williams.
