About Lucille Gingerich
Dundee - Lucille M.Gingerich, 76, of Dundee, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical in Canton following a period of declining health.
She was born in Dover on March 23, 1945 to the late Jesse and Anna Lou (Pulley) York and married Raymond Gingerich in 1967. He died on April 12, 2017.
Lucille graduated from Dover High School in 1965.
She was a member of Walnut Creek Mennonite, where she had taught Sunday School, Bible School, and helped with the lunch committee.
She had worked for Alsco and in 1990, she and her husband Raymond purchased Farmerstown Meats and operated it for 23 years.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Gingerich of Dundee; granddaughter, Grace Gingerich of Dundee; siblings, Betty (Buddy) Potts, Pauline Pulley, Louise (John) Mizer, Jim (Linda) York, and Patsy (David) Michalik; and step siblings, Robert (Cinda) Lenarz and Debbie (Tony) Aqualino.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by an infant sister and brother, Jessie.
Services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 10 AM at the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church with Pastor Charles Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-6 PM at the Church and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
