Lucinda Basham Hardin was born in Breckenridge County in 1824 to Bartlett Basham and his second wife, Nicey Simmons Basham. Lucinda married Joel P. Hardin on 25 Feb 1847 in Warren Co. She was the mother of 10 children; Zachary, Daniel, Alice, Francis, Betty, Thurza or Teresa, Moses, Joel B., Nancy Jane, and Alfred. Francis and Nancy preceeded her in death. In 1870, Lucinda and her family moved to the NW corner of Edmonson Co which is where she died on March 7, 1885. She was buried at Old Big Reedy Cemetery.
