About Lucinda Stone

Died, September 7, 1883, at her home six miles east of Knoxville, Mrs. Lucinda Stone, wife of Andrew Stone, aged 68 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Stone came to Iowa and settled on the present home farm in 1848, when Iowa was yet almost a wilderness. They have lived there thirty-five years and reared a family. They have been esteemed in all their circle of acquaintances as among the best of our pioneer. The demise of Mrs. Stone is deeply mourned by many in that vicinity where she has been so long known. Her disease was spinal affection resulting in paralysis.
She was born in Ohio and married January 2, 1838. There are eight of her sons and daughters living. The funeral service at the home was conducted by Rev. Bliss. Burial at the Plymouth Cemetery.
