Lucretia (Lucy) Chipman was born 1727 in Halifax, MA, daughter of Jacob Chipman and Bethiah Thomas.[1] Lucy was descended from Mayflower passengers John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley through her paternal great grandmother Hope (Howland) Chipman.
She married George Ring 1762 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and had the following children:
