About Lucy Jane Larcombe

From "The Eye-Witness", Birtle Manitoba's newspaper, for Tuesday April 24, 1900 After a lingering illness Mrs Larcombe passed over to the silent majority on Friday last (20 April) leaving a husband and nine children, the youngest but a few weeks old, to mourn her departure. Deceased came west about eleven years ago with her family from London England, and has since resided on the farm where she died and which Mr Larcombe had recently purchased with object of making it their home. Deceased was reserved but held all the friends she made by her consistent and considerable life. Friends from near and far attended on Monday (23 Apr) afternoon to pay the last rites to the departed and condole with the afflicted family. Burial Service was conducted by H Dobson who will preach a Memorial Sermon in the Methodist Church next Sunday evening. (Apr 29
