Cedar Rapids Gazette – January 24, 1972 – Obituaries Mrs. James Lindsey Lucy Hortense Lindsey, 82, of 77 Oklahoma avenue SW, a Cedar Rapids resident 62 years, and the widow of James S Lindsey, died Monday following a brief illness. Born June 23, 1889, at Abington, IL, Mrs. Lindsey was a member of the First Church Christ Scientist. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Miles, with whom she made her home, and Barbara Nassif of Cedar Rapids, two sons, H. Victor Lindsey, of Ottumwa, and James R Lindsey on Onslow, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Harold Hunt, of Albuquerque, N.M., and a brother, Russell Ryden, of Victoria, Ill. Services: Turner Chapel east at 3 p.m. Wednesday by the first reader of the First Church of Christ Scientist. Burial: Cedar Memorial. Friends may call at Turner east until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The casket will not be opened after the service
