William married (c.1225) Lucy. According to Sir William Dugdale (1605-86) she was a daughter of Piers FitzHerbert but according to Gerald Paget she was a daughter of William de Port [aka de St. John] (see PORT). The latter version is less likely, but needs to be considered.
