Ludwig VI Kurfürst von Brandenburg was born in 1330. He was the son of Ludwig IV von Bayern, Holy Roman Emperor. He married Kunigarde of Poland, daughter of Casimir III, King of Poland and Anne of Lithuania, in 1345. He died in 1365.

    He was a member of the House of Wittelsbach. He gained the title of Kurfürst von Brandenburg. He succeeded as the Herzog (Duke) von Bayern in 1347.
