Lulu and George had a daughter named Marilyn June Friel born on February 13, 1921 in Tipton, Cedar County, Iowa. She married Eugene "Gene" Backus. Marilyn died on March 11, 1939 in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois. It is said she was buried in Galesburg.
