Funeral services for Luther Dow Fields, 86, of Rt. 5, Cookeville, were held Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home with Rev. Daily McCowan officiating. Burial was in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Fields died Sept. 27 in the local hospital. A native of Putnam County, Mr. Fields was a retired farmer and the son of the late Jim and Josie Rodgers Fields. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Tillie Rodgers Fields; six daughters, Mrs. Tillman Woodard, Hendersonville, TN; Mrs. Van Rasbury, Madison; Mrs. Eva Woodard, Old Hickory; Mrs. Ed Matheney, Goodman, MS; Mrs. Lawrence Hunter, Bloomington Springs; and Mrs. Mayford Nevins, Anderson, IN.
