Miss Luz Guariña, daughter of the late Senator Mario Guariña from Sorsogon, was a pupil of the late Professor V. Carrion, noted Filipino opera singer and instructor in voice culture. Miss Guariña is the founder and directress of the Manila Music School which is making a name for her efforts to produce opera singers and actors in the Philippines.
