Lydia Stanford is the daughter of Rebecca Bartlett, descendant of Richard Warren of the Mayflower, and Robert Stanford, her second husband.

Lydia was listed as "probable" in the 2004 edition of the Warren Silver Book. She has been confirmed in the 2011 edition, along with her husband and children. She was born about 1697 and died after 7 Apr 1734.[1]

Lydia married Andrew Alden on February 4, 1714, in Duxbury, Plymouth, Massachusetts[2].

Children

Andrew and Lydia (Stanford) Alden had the following (7) children:[3]

  1. Jabin, born 19 November 1714
  2. John, born 23 July 1716; married Elizabeth RIpley
  3. Prince, born 28 October 1718; married Mary Fitch
  4. Andrew, born 20 June 1721; married Rebecca Stanford
  5. Walter, born 11 November 1727 (twin)
  6. Lydia, born 11 November 1727 (twin); married Seth Alden
  7. William, born 21 October 1731; married Rebecca Metcalfe

Notes

From Wakefield: Rebecka Stanford m. Plymouth 24 Nov. 1713 Jonathan Ames (or Eames) (MD 14:37) and Lydia Stanford m. Duxbury 4 Feb.1713/4 Andrew Alden. If Robert Stanford's first wife Mary Howland was 18 when she married Timothy Williamson, she would have been 45 when she married Robert Stanford and probably too old to have children. Also the name Rebecca suggests that she was named for Rebecca. It is possible Lydia is the child he had by Lydia Hanmore, but Lydia (Stanford) Alden's last child was born 21 Oct. 1731, strongly suggesting she was too old to have been that child. No other Stanford family appears in this area at this time
