About Lydia Ann Shantz
Lydia Ann Stauffer and Ezra Shantz were married on March 15, 1888, in New Hamburg, Ontario. The couple made their home on their farm in Wilmot Township near Haysville, Ontario. Their children were:

In May 1895, Ezra died from consumption (tuberculosis), leaving Lydia Ann a widow with four young children. By the time of the 1901 Census of Canada, Lydia Ann and Susan resided with Josiah Stauffer (Lydia Ann's brother) and his family in Waterloo Township, while Winnifred and Burton lived with other relatives.

Lydia Ann died on March 8, 1949, in Kelowna, British Columbia, where her daughter Winnifred resided. She was laid to rest beside her husband who died 54 years earlier.
