About Lyman Streeter
Lyman Streeter was the son of John Streeter and Johannah (Jane) Smith who married in 1771 in Rhode Island. They came to NH, first to Winchester then on to Hinsdale. Deeds show land was purchased in Hinsdale in 1787.
Jane died first and John married a second time to Rebecca Farr; they had no children. John, Jane and Rebecca are all buried in the North Hinsdale Cemetery, next to the Baptist Church.
Lyman and Rachel lived in Hinsdale until after 1815. They then moved to Lyndon, Vermont, where they became members of the LDS Church in about 1835. Following their conversion, they moved westward with other adherents.
Lyman died in Council Bluffs, Harrison Co., Iowa in 1866 at age 94.
