PUBLISHED IN THE DAILY CHRONICLE (DeKalb, Illinois) 27 Jan 1972Mrs. John A. (Martha) Johnson, 84, of Sycamore died Jan. 27, 1972 at the DeKalb Co. Nursing Home.She was born Nov. 12, 1887 in Sweden, the daughter of Leven and Augusta Falk Swanson. She came to America as a young girl. In 1917 she was married to John Johnson at Sycamore.She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, Sycamore and the Lady Vikings.Her husband survives, also two sons, Walter, DeKalb and John Jr., Maple Park; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; also two sisters and a brother in Sweden.She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and sisters, and a son, George.The funeral is at 1:30 Saturday Jan. 29 at the Van Natta Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Granquist officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
