Here rests JAMES BISSET, DD d. 8 Sept. 1872 in 78th year of his age & 47th of his labours as minister of Bourtie. To his memory this stone has been dedicated by parishoners & friends as a mark of their respect and love. (LHS) Also to the memory of MARY BANNERMAN dau. of Rev R. LESSEL Inverurie & wife of Rev. JAMES BISSET. DD d. 9 Dec. 1836 aged 28. Also to the memory of CHRISTIAN HELEN their 3rd dau , d. during the siege of Cawnpore 1857 aged 22 (RHS) Also the memory of ELIZABETH SINCLAIR dau. of Rev W SMITH of Bower, Caithness & widow of Rev JAMES BISSET DD b. at Bower 12 Feb 1824 - d. Cheltenham 8 Jan. 1890 and burled in New Cemetery there. Also to the memory of GEORGE THOMAS their elder son d. 1 June 1852 aged 10.
