BIOGRAPHY Mauritz, Freiherr von Strachwitz und Gross-Zauche, was born on 12 December 1898 in Bruschewitz, the son of Mauritz, Freiherr von Strachwitz und Gross-Zauche, and Dora von Nostitz und Jänkendorf.
On 8 September 1926 in Münster, Westfalen, Mauritz married Elisabeth, Freiin von Landsberg-Velen, the daughter of Alfred, Freiherr von Landsberg-Velen, and Johanna, Freiin von Ketteler. They became the parents of four children.
At the end of the Second World War he was taken to Asbert, a Russian prisoner-of-war camp, where, on 21 October 1953, he died.
