Mabel Frazier and William Henry Armstrong were married in Lamar, Barton County, Missouri, on August 9, 1922.
In addition to being a caterer for 40 years, Mabel was employed in various positions in food services, including Grimes Cafe, St. Mary's Covnent, and the State Hospital, as well as working as a cook at Cottey College for 29 years. Because there were other ladies working at Cottey College whose names were also Mabel, she was nicknamed Armie, as a shortened version of her last name, Armstrong.
After the death of Mr. Armstrong, Mabel married Walter Thompson, who died in 1975.
She was a member of the Dunnegan Grove Christian Church before becoming a member of the First Christian Church of Nevada. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church Telephone Bible Study.
