• Madeleine de Mailly was born circa 1507 at of Mailly-Maillet, Somme, Picardie, France.2 She married Charles de Roye, Comte de Roucy, Seigneur & Baron de Roye, son of Anthoine de Roye, Comte de Roucy, Sire & Baron de Roye, Seigneur de Breteuil, Muret, & Bussancy and Katharine von Saarbrücken, on 27 August 1528 at St. Germain-en-Laye, Yvelines, Ile-de-France, France.1,2 Madeleine de Mailly died circa 1570.2

• XIV. Charles DE ROYE, sire de Roye, comte de Roucy, né le 14 janvier 1510, eut l'administration de toutes les terres données en douaire à la reine Éléonore, épousa, en présence du roi, à Saint-Germain-en-Laye, le 27 août 1528, Madelaine de Mailly, fille et héritiére de Ferry de Mailly, sire de Conty, et de Louise de Montmorency, qui en 1514, était remariée à Gaspard de Coligny, maréchal de France, et était sœur d'Anne, duc de Montmorency, premier baron, pair, maréchal, grand-maitre et connétable de France. Charles DE ROYE mourut au château du Plessier de Roye le 19 janvier 1551; sa veuve lui survécut jusqu'en 1567. Ils sont enterrés en l'église de Muret. De ce Mariage sont issus:

• Louise de Montmorency (1496–1547) was a French noblewoman from the ancient House of Montmorency.
• She was the younger sister of Anne de Montmorency, Constable of France, and the mother of Gaspard de Coligny, Admiral of France.
• Louise married her first husband, Ferri de Mailly, in 1511.[1] This marriage produced a daughter, Madeleine de Mailly. Ferry died in 1513, and Louise remarried in 1514 to Gaspard I de Coligny. From her second marriage she had three sons, all of whom played important roles in the first period of the French Wars of Religion: Odet, Cardinal de Châtillon; Gaspard, the Admiral; and François, Seigneur d'Andelot.
• She had considerable patronage power independently of her husband,[2][3] and had an important role in spreading the influence of Calvinism in France in the 16th Century.[4]

• .... Jacques II. was killed by the side of Bayard at the siege of Ravenna in 1512, and Gaspard I. inherited Châtillon. He married Louise de Montmorency, the sister of the constable. He fought at Farnovo (1495), Agnadello (1509), and Marignan (1515), and was made marshal of France in 1516. He died in 1522 at Dax, on his way to relieve Fontarabia. He was, says Brantôme, a man "du conseil duquel le roi s'est fort servi tant qu'il a vescu, comme il avait raison, car il avait bone teste et bon bras." He left behind him three sons -- Odet de Châtillon, Cardinal Archbishop of Toulouse and Bishop of Beauvais; Gaspard II., born in 1517, Comte de Coligny, known in his youth as Monsieur de Fromente, a castle now in ruins some four leagues from Bourg-en-Bresse; and François d'Andelot. The three boys were brought up by their mother, Louise de Montmorency.* Louise was twice married. By her first husband, the Comte de Mailly, she had a daughter, Madeleine, afterwards Madame de Roye and mother-in-law of Louis de Bourbon, Prince de Condé. Louise de Montmorency was a firm, proud, austere, morally courageous woman. .... She died in 1547, refusing the aid of a priest. .... etc. __________________
