About Madie Pearl Poston
Madie was the first daughter, after 3 sons, born to Dru Morgan and Daisy Viola (ATEN) NIXON. She worked alongside her three brothers in the cotton fields in TX. It was said that she could pick more cotton in a day than all of her 3 brothers. She was a hard working outdoor woman. She loved being the "gofer" in her husband's agriculture business after they moved to Arizona. She enjoyed going deep sea fishing with her husband, Claude, and her brothers, D M (Button) and J J (Jizzy) NIXON in the Gulf of California off Mexico. She was not raised to be a cultured lady but to work hard outdoors as her brothers did. She never complained, but did her share. She never worked outside her home, but was always there to encourage her children to do their best in whatever pursuit they chose in life. She was always there to "root" them to victory at sporting events. She was her husband's partner for life and together they succeeded in giving a "good life" to their children, Bob, Kathy and Donna.
