Mae P. Makins, of Royersford, died June 29, 2009, at home. She was 86.

She was born in South Fork, daughter of the late James M. and Susan (McTavish) Bowen.

Mrs. Makins was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, South Fork.

She is survived by her children, Joseph Jr., Joan Moyer, and Susan Denner, all of Royersford; James of Pottstown, Edward, Allan, and Sandra Moyer, all of Royersford; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edward Bowen of Kenosha, Wis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. “Barney” Makins Sr., who died in 2002; sisters Violet Long, Betty Tuboa, Rose Bly and Fern Walls; and brothers Robert and James Bowen.

Friends will be received from 6:30 to 9 p.m. July 1 and from 10 to 11 a.m. July 2, with the Rev. Arlene Bobrowicz officiating at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. Interment will be in South Fork Cemetery.
