Mathilde de Brabant, née en 1224, morte le 29 septembre 1288, était fille d'Henri II, duc de Brabant et de Marie de Hohenstaufen.

Elle épousa en premières noces à Compiègne le 14 juin 1237 Robert Ier d'Artois (1216 † 1250), fils de Louis VIII le Lion et de Blanche de Castille, et donna naissance à :

Matilda of Brabant (1224 – September 29, 1288) was the eldest daughter of Henry II, Duke of Brabant and his first wife Marie of Hohenstaufen.

On 14 June 1237, Matilda married her first husband Robert I of Artois. The bride was about thirteen years old and the groom twenty-one. Robert was the fifth son of Louis VIII of France and Blanche of Castile. They had two children:

Blanche of Artois (1248 - 2 May 1302). Married first Henry I of Navarre and secondly Edmund Crouchback, 1st Earl of Lancaster.

Robert II of Artois (1250 - 11 July 1302).

On 8 February 1250, Robert I was killed while participating in the Seventh Crusade. Sometime between 1250 and 1254, Matilda married her second husband Guy III, Count of Saint-Pol. He was a younger son of consorts and co-rulers Hugh I, Count of Blois and Mary, Countess of Blois. They had six children:

Hugh II of Châtillon (d. 1307), Count of Saint Pol and later Count of Blois

Guy III of Châtillon (d. 1317), Count of Saint Pol

Jacques I of Leuze-Châtillon (d. 1302, Battle of the Golden Spurs), first of the lords of Leuze, married Catherine de Condé and had issue; his descendants brought Condé, Carency, etc. into the House of Bourbon.

Blanche of Artois (1248 – 2 May 1302) was the queen regent of Navarre from 1274 to 1284, and later became Countess of Lancaster by marrying into the English royal family. She was the daughter of Count Robert I of Artois and Matilda of Brabant. From 1274 to 1284 she ruled Navarre and the counties of Brie, Champagne, Troyes et Meaux for her daughter, Joan I of Navarre (ruled 1274 to 1305).

Her paternal grandparents were Louis VIII of France and Blanche of Castile. Her maternal grandparents were Henry II, Duke of Brabant and Marie of Hohenstaufen, daughter of Philip of Swabia.

Blanche married Henry I of Navarre (ruled 1270-1274) who died in 1274. They had two children:

   * Theobald - d. 1270 fell from a battlement at the castle of Estella

* Joan I of Navarre, who became Queen regnant of Navarre and Queen consort of France
After Henry's death, Blanche married Edmund Crouchback (1245-1296), in 1276, an English prince who was a younger son of Henry III and Eleanor of Provence. Edmund was also a widower, his young wife having died the same year as Blanche's husband.

Edmund and Blanche had four children:

   * Thomas Plantagenet, 2nd Earl of Lancaster (b. 1278)

* Henry Plantagenet, 3rd Earl of Lancaster (b. 1281)
* John Plantagenet, Lord of Beaufort (c. 1282 - 1327)

Matilda of Brabant (1224-September 29, 1288) was the daughter of Henry II, Duke of Brabant. She was first married to Robert of Artois. By him she had two children, Blanche of Artois, the wife of Henry I and Edmund Croachback and Robert II of Artois. After his death in 1250 she married Guy II of Châtillon, Count of Saint Pol. Through her daughter Blanche she is an ancestor of Edward III and thus of the modern British royal family.

Blanche of Artois (1248 – 2 May 1302) was the queen regent of Navarre from 1274 to 1284, and later became Countess of Lancaster by marrying into the English royal family. She was the daughter of Count Robert I of Artois and Matilda of Brabant. From 1274 to 1284 she ruled Navarre and the counties of Brie, Champagne, Troyes et Meaux for her daughter, Joan I of Navarre (ruled 1274 to 1305).

Her paternal grandparents were Louis VIII of France and Blanche of Castile. Her maternal grandparents were Henry II, Duke of Brabant and Marie of Hohenstaufen, daughter of Philip of Swabia.

Blanche married Henry I of Navarre (ruled 1270-1274) who died in 1274. They had two children:

   * Theobald - d. 1270 fell from a battlement at the castle of Estella

* Joan I of Navarre, who became Queen regnant of Navarre and Queen consort of France
After Henry's death, Blanche married Edmund Crouchback (1245-1296), in 1276, an English prince who was a younger son of Henry III and Eleanor of Provence. Edmund was also a widower, his young wife having died the same year as Blanche's husband.

Edmund and Blanche had four children:

   * Thomas Plantagenet, 2nd Earl of Lancaster (b. 1278)

* Henry Plantagenet, 3rd Earl of Lancaster (b. 1281)
* John Plantagenet, Lord of Beaufort (c. 1282 - 1327)

Matilda of Brabant (1224-September 29, 1288) was the daughter of Henry II, Duke of Brabant. She was first married to Robert of Artois. By him she had two children, Blanche of Artois, the wife of Henry I and Edmund Croachback and Robert II of Artois. After his death in 1250 she married Guy II of Châtillon, Count of Saint Pol. Through her daughter Blanche she is an ancestor of Edward III and thus of the modern British royal family.

Matilda was 13 when she married Robert (who was 21). She became a widow in 1250, when Robert was killed on a crusade in Egypt. Sometime between 1250 and 1254, Matilda married her second husband Guy III, Count of Saint-Pol.
