Maggie Lorene Heafner

Maggie Lorene Rice Heafner, 87, of Walnut Ridge, died Dec. 17, 2008, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

Born March 24, 1921, in Walnut Ridge, she was the daughter of Henry M. and Mary Elizabeth Spence Rice. She was a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold G. Heafner, on Feb. 2, 1985, whom she married Oct. 25, 1944; and siblings, Claude Rice, Leonard Rice, Lottie Hurn, Maudie Rice, Garland Rice, Vernie Rice, Gusty Rice and infant twin brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jo Wolf and husband Jack, Walnut Ridge; a grandson, Harold Porter and wife Kelli, Walnut Ridge; a granddaughter, Cassie Pratt and husband Adam, Hoxie; and three great-grandchildren, Kobe Porter and Maggie Porter, both of Walnut Ridge, and Saydee Pratt, Hoxie.

Funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Harris officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Tony Mitchell, Billy Rice, Tom Richardson, Ronnie Rice, Dean Davis and David Wray.
