Maggie Maud Roadcap Kessell

Maggie was born on February 3, 1880, the only child to James and Fanny Roadcap. She married James Wilbur Kessel She gave birth to 11 children : Elsie, Paul ,Fanny, Leona, Ola, Ernest, Esther, Gladys, Courtney,Ethel, and Janet. (who was born on Jan.24,1920.) Maggie died on February 23, 1923 and the older two Elsie and Paul had to care and raise their siblings as their father James Kessel had to work to provide for his 11 children,

While Maggie and James Kessel JR were raising their family, her father James Roadcap died. Her father-in-law James Wilbur Kessel SR. who was married to Elizabeth Thorne Kessel had 10 children. Elizabeth died in 1906. After Elizabeth's death, James Kessell SR married Maggie's "mom" Fannie M. (Fultz) Roadcap. This has always been confusing to the KESSEL/ KESSELL family History.

 Paul G. Kessel knew his Grandma Fanny (Roadcap) Kessel more, as he was very young,(born on Dec. 11,, 1902) about 4, when  his first grandma Elizabeth (Thorne) Kessel died inmay  1906d
