Ivar Nilsson's family is a conventional term for a Swedish medieval high-salvation family who, like Lindöätten, had a four-piece shield as his seal weapon. As the ancestor of the family, one is counted only through the son's patronymic known man Nils, who should have been born in the second half of the 13th century.
The son Magnus Nilsson was a national council and is mentioned living 1305-1329. His seat yard was Villberga in the parish with the same name in Trögden, Uppland. The name Ivar entered the family first in the third known generation, when Nils grandson Nils Magnusson married a daughter to the feathers in Tønsberg, which was called Ivar Nilsson. Nils Magnusson is mentioned in 1356 as King Erik's advice.
The family died out in the early 15th century.
