Battle of Summerdale

Magnus Sinclair of Warsetter (aka Magnus Sincler of Wersetter) fought at the Battle of Summerdale, which took place in Orkney on 19 May 1529. A transcript of the complaint subsequently made to the crown by William, Lord Sinclair, is printed in Storer Clouston's Records Records of the Earldom of Orkney, pp. 58-60. A brief account of the battle is reproduced on p. 60 On 19 September 1539 Magnus Sinclair of Warsetter and twenty-nine others had a respite for their "art and part of the slauchter" of the late John, Earl of Caithness. An abridged transcript of the respite was printed in the Records of the Earldom of Orkney Ibidem, pp. 60-1
