Major Arthur Thomas MacMorrough Kavanagh, The MacMorrough was born on 12 January 1888. He was the son of Rt. Hon. Walter MacMorrough Kavanagh, The MacMorrough and Helen Louisa Howard. He married Minna Alice Buxton, daughter of Samuel Gurney Buxton and Mary Anne Birkbeck, on 17 November 1914. He died on 9 December 1953 at age 65.1

He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.

He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.

He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 7th Queen's Own Hussars.
