About Maj. HECTOR (7TH) Munro-Ferguson, of Assynt

HECTOR, of Assynt House, Evanton, Novar, Ross-shire held the Office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) and also the Office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).

HECTOR served in the British Army Unit the Lovat Scouts, formerly The Black Watch, which was first formed in January 1900 for service in the Second Boer War. It was a Scottish Highland Yeomanry Regiment of the British Army. This regiment was later disbanded in July 1901 while two Companies (the 113th and 114th) were formed for the Imperial Yeomanry. After the end of the Second Boer War in June 1902, these two Companies were disbanded two months later.

HECTOR also served the Crown in the First World War.

HECTOR, who received his education at the very prestigious institutions of Eton and St. Andrew’s University married Henrietta Christobel ELLIS on 23rd June 1923. He died, without issue.
