Nathan Adams was born on 2 December 1821 in Tennessee.2,3 He was the son of Thomas Patton Adams and Anne Tennant.2 Nathan Adams married Susan Pankey before 1857.4,3 Nathan Adams died on 26 June 1874 in Pulaski, Giles County, Tennessee, at age 52.2

    He appeared on the 1850 Federal census of Pulaski, Giles County, Tennessee, in the household of his mother Anne Tennant.5 Nathan Adams and Susan Pankey appeared on the 1860 Federal census of Northern Subdivision, Giles County, Tennessee, enumerated 23 August 1860. Their children Thomas and Anna were listed as living with them.3 He was a major in the Confederate Army during the Civil War.4 Nathan Adams was a lawyer.6 He and Susan Pankey appeared on the 1870 Federal census of Pulaski, Giles County, Tennessee, enumerated 4 June 1870.
