MILITARY: on 12th of December 1744, he was elected one of Committee of Inspection. At the Lexington Alarm he enlisted ands served as Lieutenant under Captain Hooker, Sixth Company, General Spencer, May 1, 1775, this company took post at Roxbury and served during the siege of Boston. On November 1776, he was appointed to Captain Third Battallion under Colonel Ely who was under General Spencer. He served at Peekskill under Colonel Whiting in October 1777 and at the New Haven Alarm July 5, 1777. After the Revoluntionary War, he was made a Brigade Major and later Major of that line. On the 7th day of July 1784, he was admitted to the Society of the Cincinnati.
